Conway, S.C. – The Jacksonville University women's soccer program played to a 2-2 draw, Thursday evening at Coastal Carolina.
In the season opener for both programs, the Chanticleers found the back of the net first in the 13th minute from Megan Brouse, courtesy of a pass from Victoria Carnevale.
The Dolphins would respond to the Coastal Carolina goal, with back-to-back scores of their own. A goal from the right foot of redshirt-junior forward
Olivia Abdallah in the 20th minute would give the Dolphins their first score of 2022.
Just a few minutes later, junior forward
Beyonce Robinson would give JU their only lead of the contest with her first goal of the campaign, with the assist courtesy of
Selma Fohrer.
The score would remain a one-goal advantage for Jacksonville, as the Dolphins led 2-1 entering the break.
Coming out of the half, Coastal Carolina would knot the score at two-all, behind a goal from Julia Ziegenfuss at the 55th minute.
The two programs would battle for the remainder of the contest, however the score would remain tied, 2-2.
Up next, the Dolphins return home Sunday afternoon, welcoming Middle Tennessee to Southern Oak Stadium for the 2022 home opener and the
