Orangeburg, S.C. – The Jacksonville University women's soccer program defeated South Carolina State Wednesday evening, 5-1.
In the eighth minute, freshman
Madison Niehaus found the back of the net to begin the contest for the Dolphins, the first goal of her career.
The scoring continued for JU in the 21
st minute, as freshman
Katherine Solis scored off an assist by
Alisha Mainwaring and Niehaus.
Just over three minutes later,
Isabella Ruggiano continued the momentum for the 'Phins, leading 3-0.
Following a South Carolina State goal in the 28
th minute,
Anaya Black scored back-to-back goals, giving the Dolphins a 5-1 lead entering halftime.
The score would remain for the final 45 minutes, as Jacksonville would defeat the Bulldogs for their second-straight victory.
The Dolphins return to the field this Sunday, as JU travels to Charleston Southern for a 1:00 PM matchup. The contest will be streamed live on ESPN+.
