JACKSONVILLE, FLA.- Jacksonville University volleyball battled in four sets on the last day of Dolphin Classic.  

SET ONE 

Up by six 10-4, in the opening set rallied with six straight points to take the lead. The Owls battled back to get within two of the Dolphins. Jacksonville again bounced back with a 3-0 run sparked by a clutch kill from Lyric Love. The Owls chipped away at the Dolphins lead and tied the game 20-20 before the Dolphins took the last five points in set one 25-21.  

SET TWO  

In a 6-2 deficit early on, Jacksonville found itself in a hole fighting to battle with the Owls. Florida Atlantic took advantage and tied the series 1-1 with a 25-14.  

SET THREE 

Jacksonville started off set three with a 5-0 scoring run extending the lead to 5-2. Three consecutive kills from the Dolphins expanded the lead by three. Jenna McNamara brought more energy to the Dolphins after she slammed one down in Swisher Gymnasium. Florida Atlantic battled back to finish off the set 25-23.  

SET FOUR  

The Dolphins showing their persistence, Ju battled in the fourth set and tied the set 24-24 with a service ace from Kariana Ayala- Drew. The Owls strived to the finish line and closed out the match 29-27.  

Jenna McNamara led the pack with 13 kills. Haley Hart and Julia De Sa added 10 kills each. Lyric Love had 9 blocks, and Rebecca Rocassin with 42 assists. Kariana Ayala-Drew collected 18 digs and freshman Kristina Nika with 10 digs.  

Jacksonville will travel to Troy, Alabama next week for the Trojan Invitational against Gardener Webb and Alabama State on Friday and Troy on Saturday.
