JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – Jacksonville Men's Soccer dropped their second home match in a row on Tuesday afternoon, this time falling to Presbyterian by a score of 1-0.
The match was truly a tale of two halves with Jacksonville dominating the first frame. In the first 18 minutes of the game JU took five shots to Presbyterian's zero but would not capitalize on any of the chances, missing the net on all five.
The early onslaught of opportunities for JU would end up being their most promising as Presbyterian then started to find their footing, eventually leading to a goal in the 25
th minute from midfielder Lorenzo Nagy.
Coming out of the half down by one the 'Phins would continue to battle hard, but it was Presbyterian who would dictate the pace of play, outshooting JU six to four in the second half.
After 45 minutes, neither side found the back of the net and the game would finish as a 1-0 Blue Hose victory.
In the loss, Goalkeeper
Jabari Gray was outstanding, and made six saves while only allowing a single goal over 90 minutes.
Olivier Correa also continued his tenacious style of play, getting free for four shots, which moved his team leading season total to 24.
The Dolphins will now take a week long break before they look to snap their current losing streak against the number one team in the nation in Wake Forest on Tuesday, October 4, at 7 pm.
