Dolphins Extend Unbeaten Streak in Draw with Georgia Southern

Jacksonville, Fla. – The Jacksonville University women's soccer streak extended its unbeaten streak to begin the 2022 campaign, following a 1-1 draw Thursday evening against Georgia Southern at Southern Oak Stadium.

The streak, now at five matches, is the longest to begin a season in program history, passing the streak of four contests set in 1997 and 1998.

Near the end of the first half, the Eagles struck first in the 37th minute, off a header from Kendall Wilson, with the assist coming from Erin Wilkins off a corner kick.

Coming out of the half, the momentum would swing in Jacksonville's favor. Redshirt-sophomore Hayley Friedl would find the back of the net for the Dolphins in the 54th minute, off a strike from just outside of the box.

The score would hold, as Jacksonville continued their success early in 2022, sitting at 3-0-2 through the team's first five contests.

Gretchen Duttenhofer earned the start in the first half, stopping four shots. Coming out of the halftime intermission, Murphy Sheaff came in relief, halfting two Georgia Southern shots.

The Dolphins look to continue the unbeaten streak this Saturday, welcoming The Citadel to Southern Oak Stadium for a 2 PM matchup
