JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- The Jacksonville women's soccer team won their third consecutive River City Rumble over North Florida by a score of 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
An early second-half goal and stout defense across the entire Dolphins backline was enough for JU (3-11-4) to claim their third shutout of the season, and third consecutive win over North Florida. Less than 10 minutes into the second half, a
Lillian Young shot was deflected wide for a corner.
Hayley Friedl, the Dolphins usual suspect to take set-pieces, whipped in a dangerous ball towards the penalty spot. Her cross avoided two Ospreys defenders and fell in front of a charging
Mariama Dabo, who, on the half-volley, sent a perfect shot into the bottom left corner to give the game its first and only goal of the afternoon. For Dabo, it was her first goal of her career and for Friedl, it was her first assist of the season.
Logan Gonzales started in net for the Dolphins and made nine saves, five of which were in the second half alone. Gonzales started the season and played her entire career as a center-back. When the injury bug hit, the redshirt junior stepped up to the task of playing the vacant goalkeeping position and gained confidence with each performance. She finished the season with 56 saves and had at least five saves in five contests.
Millie Urquhart and
Hannah Bielicke played the full 90 minutes at the center back position for JU and solidified the shutout over the Ospreys. Both players consistently won aerial threats and put a halt to any UNF attack that appeared to be dangerous. Friedl also played 90 minutes but from the left back position and also helped preserve the shutout for JU.
