JACKSONVILLE, FLA- Jacksonville University Women's softball program took on Penn State Saturday afternoon and Bethune Cookman Saturday evening.
The Dolphins (5-4) Split 1-1 on Day Two of the JU/UNF Invitational.
Game 1
It was a low-scoring affair Saturday evening at Debbie & Fred Pruitt Softball Complex. The Dolphins got their first hit of the game in the bottom of the first inning when Madison Bratek doubled to left center. A hit by pitch got Allison Bratek on base as well but nothing would come if it as the Bratek's got stuck on first and second to end the inning.
In the top of the fifth inning Penn State scored with a double to left center that led to players home. Finnegan scored to make the game 3-0. In the top of the sixth inning Coombs scored to make the final score 4-0.
Game 2
Madison Kennedy homered to right center in the bottom of the second inning. In the fourth inning Bethune Cookman scored on a passed ball. Kari Holzrichter scored through a doubled down the line by Lindsey Chadwick to make the score 2-1. Chadwick advanced to third and scored on a throwing error. In the fifth inning Victoria Rodebaugh singled to center field, Madison Reynolds also singled to center field. With Allison Bratek up to bat she homered to left field allowing all Dolphins on base to score. The Dolphinw won 6-1.
ON DECK
The Dolphins return tomorrow at Debbie and Fred Pruitt Complex to take on Cleveland State at 10:00 AM.
