HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
Â
The Dolphins came out strong against the Quakers,
Grace Hobson charged the net and completed a play around the crease, which ended in the first scored play of the game at 12:54. Shortly after, Penn answered with a goal of their own to show the score 1-1. Jacksonville's defense played tight on Penn's offense, this caused them to fumble the ball on multiple occasions, and allow Jacksonville to maintain offensive possession and finish the first quarter 3-2 Jacksonville. The Dolphins outscored the Quakers 3-2.
Â
Penn started the second quarter with two goals, to take their first lead of the game. Jacksonville went on to score eight of the next nine goals to hold an 11 to 5 lead over Penn. During that span
Sarah Elms netted a pair of goals to go along
Hudson Gentiles two goals with assists from
Grace Hobson to make space and effectively locate the back of the net.Â
The nationally ranked Quakers would not go away quietly and netted six goals in the fourth quarter alone.
Molly Brock added an insurance goal with five minutes left and the defense did enough in the end to close out the game with a nail biting Jacksonville victory 12-11
