Women’s Lacrosse Dominates Coastal Carolina With 17-5 Semi-Final Win.

Box Score Jacksonville, FL.- Women's lacrosse advances to the final round of the ASUN Women's Lacrosse  Conference Championship with a 17-5 win over Coastal Carolina.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
 
Jacksonville came out fired up, earning a running clock in the first half of play, and never looked back. 
 
The Dolphins kicked off the matchup with a 9-1 run against Coastal. In the first quarter, graduate student attacker Lauren Craft earned herself a hat trick, her second consecutive hat trick, and in the seventh game this year, she scored three or more goals. Junior attacker Brianna Samuels and graduate student attacker Sarah Elms both had a pair of goals.
 
Senior attacker Grace Hobson notched five points in the first half, including a goal from a crease roll to hit the bottom left net. Graduate student midfielder Madeline Cloyd, graduate student midfielder Molly Brock, and freshman attacker Ainsley Scruggs all notched points for the Dolphins, who led 12-1 at the half. 
 
Jacksonville continued the momentum in the second half when senior midfielder Lauren Ellis notched her second goal of the game. Samuels earned herself a hat trick when she dodged her defender at the crease to hit the net advancing the Dolphins' lead 15-3.   
 
The Dolphins held the Chanticleers to just four goals in the second half. Elms earned a hat trick with an assist from Hobson, her fifth assist of the game. Freshman midfielder Samantha Ednie scored her first goal of the year and the game's final goal.
 
"I am thrilled for this group, I think that this was a win that was massively worked for and truly deserved!" said head coach Tara Singleton "I am thrilled for us to make it to the championship."
