JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University Athletics is excited to officially open the call for submissions for the Hall of Fame Class of 2023 on Monday.
Once nominations are received, the Hall of Fame committee will meet to decide the latest additions to the school's illustrious hall of honor.
The most recent class of Charlene Charles (Track & Field), Ayron Hardy (Men's Basketball), Cameron Mann (Men's Lacrosse), Britt Orashen (Women's Lacrosse), Sammie Strasbaugh (Volleyball) were all inducted, along with longtime team physician Dr. R Stephen Lucie as a special contributor at the ceremony held in January 2022.
All are invited to send in nominations beginning Today (July 31). The nomination period will close September 1, and this year's class will be elected and announced in the coming months. The induction ceremony will be held in early 2024.
Nominations can be submitted in the following categories: athletes, coaches, teams, administration and staff, and an "other'' category to honor those who have given service to the athletic program. Up to five candidates will be voted upon during each election cycle, plus a special contributor, if one is worthy.
The voting committee will be composed of the Athletic Director (non-voting), two Hall of Fame members, a male sport head coach, a female coach head sport, a designate from the Jacksonville Athletic Communications Department and two Board of Trustee members (from the Athletic Committee).
