JACKSONVILLE, FL --The Jacksonville Volleyball team could not overcome a dynamic Eagles offense Friday at home losing to FGCU in straight sets (24-26, 21-25, 19-25).
Breanna McDonough finished with 15 kills on the day to lead the Dolphins offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .414. Defensively, JU had three players reach double figures in digs, including 15 from Sofia Rampazzo, 15 from Kristina Nika, and 10 more from Cami Kelsay.
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Dolphins dropped a tight first set, losing 26-24 in a game that was tied eight times and had three lead changes.
SET 2 | Jacksonville lost set two 25-21, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. FGCU grabbed the advantage for good at 14-13 in a set that was tied up nine times before the Eagles took over in the second half of the set.
SET 3 | FGCU finished off the sweep with a third-set win. The Dolphins lost the set 25-19 despite a solid showing on the attacking end. Jacksonville put together a .367 attack percentage with 15 kills in the set loss.
