Dolphins Drop 3-1 Match To Central Arkansas

CONWAY, AR --The Jacksonville Volleyball team fell to the Central Arkansas 3-1 (13-25, 16-25, 25-21, 23-25) Saturday on the road at Prince Center.

The Dolphins attack was paced by Breanna McDonough, who finished with 20 kills and by Ana Tobar, who had 10. The 'Phins got 11 digs from Kristina Nika along with six blocks from Amina Dervisevic to lead them defensively.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Dolphins fell behind early, losing a tough first set 25-13. Jacksonville trailed by as many as 13 points as Central Arkansas grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 in a set that was notted up just once before the Sugar Bears took control.

SET 2 | Jacksonville lost set two 25-16, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. The Dolphins fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before dropping the set.

SET 3 | After losing the opening two sets, Jacksonville rallied to grab the third set and make it a 2-1 match. The Dolphins fought to win 25-21 in a set that featured four lead changes and was tied 11 times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than four points along the way. Jacksonville's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Central Arkansas attacks in the set.

SET 4 | Jacksonville couldn't build off the set-three victory and lost in set four 25-23 to drop the match. Central Arkansas grabbed the advantage for good at 22-21 and Jacksonville wasn't able to recover in a set that was tied up seven times before the Sugar Bears took over in the second half of the set.

- Jacksonville got a match-high 11 digs from Kristina Nika.
- Jacksonville attackers were helped by a team-high 28 assists from Emily Hodsdon.
