JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University men's rowing head coach Preston Weinard has announced Sanjay Mokha as the newest addition to the men's rowing program, as he joins as a Graduate Assistant Coach. Sanjay brings a wealth of experience in strength and conditioning, high-performance coaching, and rowing instruction from various esteemed institutions.

"I'm excited to welcome Sanjay to Jacksonville as our new graduate assistant coach," said coach Weinard. "Sanjay brings good experience in the strength and conditioning world that has elevated his understanding of rowing and coaching the rowing stroke. He brings a lot of energy to our team and has already made a great impression on our program. I look forward to mentoring him in his new coaching role and working together with him and Coach Allison to raise JU even higher on the national level."

Mokha recently completed his Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA, in May 2024. He began his coaching journey in 2021 and has developed a robust portfolio across multiple disciplines in rowing, strength and conditioning, and sports performance.

"I am thrilled to start the next chapter of my career here at JU," said Mokha. "Jacksonville Men's Rowing has been a team on the rise and Coach Preston's evolution of the program has been admirable and intriguing. Coach Preston & Coach Allison have a clear direction that will continue to push the program forward as well as the student-athletes to make that dream happen. Enticed at the opportunity to help grow and develop JU Men's Rowing, I am ready to step into my young role and represent Dolphin Athletics as a whole."

During his tenure at Temple University as a Strength & Conditioning Intern, Sanjay collaborated closely with coaches across rowing, soccer, lacrosse, golf, tennis, and dance/cheer teams. His role involved assisting with monitoring and testing, leading mobility and conditioning sessions, and contributing to high-performance coaching discussions and hands-on practices.

Sanjay further honed his skills as a Sports Performance Intern at the University of Pennsylvania in the summer of 2023, where he played a key role in the installation and training of the Perch velocity-based training system. His leadership extended to organizing and unifying the Penn TeamBuildr platform, showcasing his ability to integrate cutting-edge technology into athletic training programs.

Mokha's experience as a Rowing Coach at Bachelors Barge Club in Philadelphia allowed him to work with a wide range of rowers, from beginners to competitive masters, offering personalized training plans and virtual video reviews for fitness and technique improvement. Sanjay's coaching credentials also include positions at Vero Beach Rowing Club, Germantown Friends School, and Conestoga Crew Club, where his guidance led to multiple medal-winning performances at prestigious championships.

Additionally, Sanjay has been actively involved as a Fitness Coach at Rowbust Fitness Studio, leading sessions that cater to a diverse clientele, including adolescents, adults, and seniors, emphasizing aerobic and resistance training, as well as stretching and mobility.

The Jacksonville men's rowing team wrapped up its 2023-24 season in historic fashion at the IRA's, clinching the program's first ever automatic bid to the National Championships. JU's upcoming schedule and roster will be announced soon.
