“The mindset is knowing who we are as a team and what we bring,” Cuddy said to World Lacrosse after the 17-2 win over Japan. “It’s the hustle, the hard work and how we good we are as a team together.”
Team Canada is appearing in its third consecutive gold medal match, and Cuddy is a huge reason why. The junior has appeared in all six of Canada’s games, all wins. She has picked up a team-high eight loose (ground) balls and has not committed a single turnover.
Canada last claimed gold in 2015, winning silver in 2019 after falling to Team USA.
The defender from Ontario will look to avenge her home nation’s silver medal at 6:30 p.m. Hong Kong time at Mong Kok Stadium. The game will be streamed on TV.worldlacrosse.sport.
“Everyone is really excited,” Cuddy said. “I think we have all grown as a group and grown really close as a team. It shows on the field.”
