JACKSONVILLE, FL --The Jacksonville volleyball team could not out-play an opposing Lions offense Saturday at home, falling to North Alabama in three sets (21-25, 24-26, 14-25).
The Dolphins attack was paced by Breanna McDonough, who finished with 15 kills on the day, and by Madison Clark, who had 10 while hitting .389. Jacksonville got 8 digs from Emily Hodsdon to lead them defensively.
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Dolphins found themselves in an early deficit, dropping the first set 25-21. North Alabama never gave up the lead in a set that was knotted up five times before the Lions took control.
SET 2 | Jacksonville then lost the second set 26-24 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. The Dolphins fell in a back-and-forth set, losing in a set that featured three lead changes and was tied 10 times. Neither team led by more than three points along the way.
SET 3 | North Alabama finished the sweep with a set-three win. The Dolphins fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before losing the set 25-14.
