Jacksonville Cross Country Posts Solid Showing at Royals Cross Country Challenge

Charlotte, NC — Jacksonville University's cross country teams continued their fall campaign with a competitive performance at the Queen Royals Cross Country Challenge on Friday, with both the men's and women's squads turning in encouraging results against a strong regional field.

On the men's side, Jack Bolan paced the Dolphins with a top-65 finish, taking 64th in a time of 26:07.63. He was followed by Gabe Edwards (96th, 26:40.38) and Zachary Earley (100th, 26:45.36), both running career-best performances.

Freshman Diego Corchado continued his promising debut season, finishing 114th in 27:07.32, just ahead of Robert Welling (122nd, 27:21.66) and Paul Svilokos (124th, 27:25.42).

The Dolphins' depth showed with tight packs through the middle of the race, as Zander Kochen (126th, 27:29.95)Noah Maske (127th, 27:35.14), and Ryan Miller (128th, 27:38.84) all finished within seconds of each other. Caleb Brigman (138th, 27:59.48) and Ashton Sarrion (144th, 28:13.34) added key support, while Geovanni CalderonDonald Dempsey III, and Jovan Figueroa closed out the team's effort.

Figueroa clocked 33:45.69 to round out the Dolphins' lineup.

Leading the way for the Dolphins in the women's 5K was Isabel Devos, who secured a standout 23rd-place finish with a time of 18:06.61, continuing her strong season as Jacksonville's front-runner.

Madeline Weiler crossed next for JU, clocking 18:46.23 for 54th place, followed by Mya Bodrato in 68th with a time of 18:59.09Jordan Dix and Alexis Holmes rounded out the top five scorers with times of 19:08.60 and 19:15.50, finishing 76th and 83rd, respectively.

Also competing for the Dolphins were Eryn Field (85th, 19:21.23)Lana Grelli (88th, 19:23.56)Annah Priyadi (95th, 19:30.47), and Alexis Garza (97th, 19:31.01)Josephine Leonard (112th, 19:44.59) and Leah Daniel (121st, 20:03.28) contributed strong efforts as well, helping the women's squad post another consistent team performance.
