Final River City Rumble Ends In Draw

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The second edition of the River City Rumble ended in a 3-3 draw Sunday at Southern Oak Stadium.

The Jacksonville Dolphins, who have already clinched their trip to the ASUN Tournament, moved to 8-4-3 overall and 5-1-2 in conference play. In the two River City Rumbles this season, Jacksonville went 1-0-1.

UNF struck first in the 14th minute, but Jacksonville answered five minutes later with a goal by Millie Urquhart. The goal was Urquhart's first of her career on her first shot since the season opener against Edward Waters.

Sunday's game was deadlocked at one apiece until the 66th minute when Jacksonville broke the tie behind Alicia Rey Perez's 11th score of the year. Olivia Peal played the ball into Rey Perez before scoring herself just 90 seconds later.

Peal scored her fourth goal of the year off a long boot from goalkeeper Pia Bozic to put the 'Phins up 3-1. Bozic's assist was her first of her career at JU. It was a banner day for Bozic between the pipes with a season-high nine saves, just one shy of her career high as a Dolphin. Bozic faced 17 shots and 13 shots on goal throughout the contest.

Jacksonville led the game in total shots with 18, netting half of their six shots on goal for scores. Rey Perez led the attack on the net with five shots. Manuela Restrepo and Peal both had three shots.

Peal had her second game this season with one goal and one assist. Her score was her first since finding the back of the net against Queens. Her assist was her first since the season opener.

JU played its final home game of the regular season Sunday, ending the year with a 4-1-3 record at Southern Oak Stadium. The Dolphins will conclude their regular season on the road with two games at West Georgia (Oct. 22) and at Queens (Oct. 25).

The ASUN women's soccer tournament, hosted at campus sites, begins on Oct. 30.
