DELAND, Fla. --- The Jacksonville volleyball team dropped its first match of the season to the Stetson Hatters Friday, 3-1. The Dolphins (17-4, 8-1 ASUN) had won their previous nine matches in a row.

Junior Rebekah Williams led the way for JU, tying a season high with 15 kills. She also recorded her fifth double-double of the year, notching 15 digs.

How It Happened
Set 1
The Hatters were on the front foot through the opening set, taking a 20-14 lead. The Dolphins scored three-straight to cut the lead to four, with kills from sophomore Haley Yount and senior Breanna McDonough. Stetson closed out the opener, taking the final two points to win 25-19.

Set 2
The second set was more of a back-and-forth until the hosts pulled ahead midway through, taking a 19-13 lead. The Dolphins fought for a late rally, with a pair of late kills from graduate student Madi Novak, but Stetson took the second, 25-18.

Set 3
Jacksonville finally got on the board in the third set. From a 4-0 opening run, it was all Dolphins in the third. A 3-0 run with kills from Williams and McDonough put JU up 20-10. Stetson went on a brief run towards the end, but a service error closed it out for Jacksonville, 25-16.

The Hatters returned to their opening set form in the fourth, taking the decisive set 25-18.
