Williams Wins ASUN Player of the Week After Career Night

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- Jacksonville graduate student guard Priscilla Williams took home her first ASUN Player of the Week honors, the league announced Monday. Her win comes after a historic performance in a 69-64 win at Georgia Tech on Sunday.

Williams was the engine that drove the Dolphins to victory over the Yellow Jackets. She scored a career-high 29 points against the Yellow Jackets, including a clutch and-one in the third quarter to put Jacksonville up for good late in the game. Her 29 points are the second most by any ASUN player yet this season and are tied for the seventh most points in a game by a JU player in program history.

She shot an efficient 9-16 from the field, including 3-6 from 3-point range. She also got to work at the free throw line, shooting 8-13 from the charity stripe. In addition to her scoring prowess, Williams has been an elite rebounder. Against Georgia Tech, she nabbed 10 boards, her fourth-straight double-double to open the season. She also dished out four assists and recorded a steal in the win.

Through four games, Williams is fifth in the ASUN in scoring (16.5 PPG) and leads the league in rebounding (10.3 RPG). She's the only player in the league averaging double-digit rebounds this season. This is Williams' second ASUN honor. She won the league's Newcomer Of The Week award last season after a win over Eastern Kentucky.

Williams and the Dolphins will be back at Swisher Gymnasium against the Florida International Panthers. Tip-off is slated for 2 PM.
