JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- Jacksonville women's basketball rang in the Thanksgiving holiday with a feast at Swisher Gymnasium, defeating the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes 77-56 Tuesday night.
The Dolphins shared the love, with four players scoring in double-figures and all 12 players who suited up finding the score sheet. Sophomore
Mychal White led the team for the second consecutive game with 16 points.
The first quarter was a fast start for Jacksonville, with junior
Sharmela Reid scoring back-to-back buckets to open the scoring. White led the way with six points and two assists in the first quarter.
The Hurricanes cut into the lead in the second, but junior
Bailey Burns hit a buzzer-beating jumper to put JU up 34-29 at halftime.
The third quarter was back-and-forth early, but the Dolphins pulled away late. Burns nailed a triple to put JU up 10, and Jacksonville took an 11-point advantage into the final period of play.
The final period was Jacksonville's best of the night, scoring a game-high 23 points as a team. Sophomore
Mariah Knight hit an early three, setting the pace for a career-high 13-point night. White drove to the paint and converted an and-one, giving JU a game-high 14-point lead.

Giana Provenzano saw the floor late, adding her first career point from the charity stripe to make the final score 77-56 Dolphins.
Game Notes
- Jacksonville has scored at least 75 points in four of the team's first six games.
- Five different players recorded at least five rebounds.
