LUBBOCK, Texas --- The Jacksonville Dolphins closed its two-game road trip in Texas, falling to the Texas Tech Red Raiders 76-40 Wednesday afternoon.

The game opened as a defensive battle, with the teams combining for just 26 points in the first quarter. The Dolphins played close in the opener, with Williams and Bowman getting a pair of buckets each. Texas Tech pulled just ahead, though, and the Red Raiders led 16-10 at the first break.
Jacksonville's offense couldn't break through in the second, as the Dolphins trailed 32-14 at halftime. The third quarter was back to business for Jacksonville, with the Dolphins posting its highest scoring quarter of the afternoon with 14 points.Â

Kali Howard led the way with a trio of buckets. She finished the night with seven points and six rebounds. In the final quarter, Williams closed out strong, shooting 3-for-5 from the field and scoring six points.Â
