GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Dolphins suffered a defeat at the hands of No. 2 ranked Florida, 10-1, Tuesday.
The Dolphins (2-4) scored their lone run behind a single from leadoff hitter
Madison Bratek. Bratek had a strong day against one of the country's best bullpens, going 1-2 with one RBI. After one pitch, Bratek saw herself on first after being dinged by an errant pitch.
As a team, Jacksonville collected just two hits with the team's other hit coming from
Jazz Jones.

Jacy Harrelson and sophomore
Skylar Waggoner.
Harrelson got the start and faced nine batters in her third time on the mound this season. The frosh gave up just three hits.
Waggoner pitched 3 1/3 innings in relief of Harrelson. The lefty struck out two after facing 17 batters, giving up four hits.
Jacksonville had its fair share of opportunities on the night to break into Florida's lead. In the first inning,
Lindsey Chadwick came up to the plate with runners on first and second. Chadwick took her Florida foe 11 pitches into the at bat before narrowly striking out.
In the second inning after Bratek's RBI, JU had the bases loaded with only one out.
Florida had not allowed a run in its last two games and had allowed just one run in its last three games prior to facing JU.

- Jacksonville's one run is the most scored on Florida by ASUN competition so far this season.
- JU has scored runs against Florida in its past two contests after being held scoreless in the prior two.
- Haley Fox was brought home by Bratek's RBI.

NEXT UP
Jacksonville will return home on Friday for its first home contests of the season. The JU/UNF Invitational will begin for Jacksonville at 11:30 a.m. on Friday against Middle Tennessee, followed by a 2 p.m. first pitch against Cleveland State. The Dolphins will play UConn and Cleveland State on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. respectively.
