Dolphins Downed In Gainesville

Box Score
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Dolphins suffered a defeat at the hands of No. 2 ranked Florida, 10-1, Tuesday.

The Dolphins (2-4) scored their lone run behind a single from leadoff hitter Madison Bratek. Bratek had a strong day against one of the country's best bullpens, going 1-2 with one RBI. After one pitch, Bratek saw herself on first after being dinged by an errant pitch.

As a team, Jacksonville collected just two hits with the team's other hit coming from Jazz Jones

Head coach Erica Ayers trotted out two pitchers for the game in freshman Jacy Harrelson and sophomore Skylar Waggoner.

Harrelson got the start and faced nine batters in her third time on the mound this season. The frosh gave up just three hits.

Waggoner pitched 3 1/3 innings in relief of Harrelson. The lefty struck out two after facing 17 batters, giving up four hits.

Jacksonville had its fair share of opportunities on the night to break into Florida's lead. In the first inning, Lindsey Chadwick came up to the plate with runners on first and second. Chadwick took her Florida foe 11 pitches into the at bat before narrowly striking out.

In the second inning after Bratek's RBI, JU had the bases loaded with only one out.
