Dolphins Fall To Western Carolina In Tournament Rematch

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- In the fourth of Jacksonville University's games in the River City Leadoff Tournament, the Dolphins fell to Western Carolina University 5-1.

The game was a rematch of Friday's 8-0 win, however the Dolphins (2-2) could not find as much offense as they did the day prior.

Jacy Harrelson scored Jacksonville's only run of the day on a sac-fly in the fourth inning. Harrelson's RBI was the team's only RBI in two games played on Saturday.

On the bump, freshman Karson Johnson got the start in her first college action.

Johnson tossed four innings, giving up six hits and four earned runs. In relief, Skylar Waggoner tossed an inning, as did Jordan White.

Reese Wells closed out the game in the seventh. Wells and White each recorded Ks. Neither Waggoner nor Wells let up a hit.

At the plate, senior transfer Haley Fox got things done with a 3-3 showing. Fox accounted for half of the team's six hits.
Averi Harcus, Alayna Gaddy and Jazz Jones smacked in the team's other three hits.

The Dolphins were not without their share of opportunities as they left six total runners on base.

GAME NOTES
