From the second quarter on, it was all JU as the Jacksonville women's basketball team cruised by the North Alabama Lions 76-58. Jacksonville avenged an earlier road loss to the Lions and moved to .500 in conference play.
The Dolphins (12-12, 6-6 ASUN) were led by senior guard
Edyn Battle, who finished with 28 points. Sophomore guard
Sana'a Garrett and sophomore forward
Saniyah Craig both scored in double figures as well.
"It was a team victory," JU head coach
Special Jennings said. "Another game where multiple players are in double figures, we had 11 assists, shot 16-17 from the free throw line. It was clicking today."
North Alabama struck first and took a 9-8 lead early in the first quarter. Jacksonville answered in emphatic fashion, ripping off a 9-0 run to take the lead.
The Dolphins kept flying into the second quarter as Craig and graduate student forward
Makayla Edwards hit back-to-back triples to start the second quarter. Back-to-back Battle layups gave Jacksonville a 27-19 lead. JU got to the free throw line to close out the first half and took a 40-31 lead to the break.
The second half was more of the same, as Jacksonville kept the Lions at bay. Battle dominated in isolation and drove to the basket consistently. Garrett opened the quarter with another Dolphin triple, and JU never looked back.
Garrett's layup to start the fourth quarter gave the Dolphins a double-digit lead they wouldn't surrender. Senior guard
Priscilla Williams drilled a late transition triple to put the final punctuation mark on an excellent team performance.

Head Coach Special Jennings
"It's a lot easier when you're healthy. We're trying to figure out the rotations and built that chemistry, but it's always good to be healthy and have our full arsenal. We just have to do little things, the things we're good at, like playing defense, talking, communicating. When we do that, things are good for us."
