Dolphins Drop First Game To UNF

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In the first game of this season's River City Rumble, Jacksonville fell to visiting UNF 8-2. The Dolphins (15-16, 2-5) fell behind early after a home run in the first and couldn't climb back.

Down 2-0 in the bottom of the first, Tatum McCool got the 'Phins on the board with a cool triple to right field, her first of the season.

UNF tacked on six unanswered runs before Jacksonville got back on the board again in the seventh behind an error that scored McCool.

From the leadoff spot, Madison Bratek went 3-4, collecting three of the team's seven hits. Bratek's three hit night was her third of the season. Pinch hitting late in the contest, Jacy Harrelson knocked in a hit. Haley Fox had two.

The 'Phins were active on the basepath with three total steals in the contest, one each by Bratek, Fox and Alison Carter.

On the mound, Reese Wells (2-3) got the start and went two innings. Jordan White came on in relief and pitched five innings, fanning a pair.
