JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Baseball outfielder Jaden Bastian has been named ASUN Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday. The sophomore center fielder delivered a dominant all-around performance across four games, continuing his impressive second season with the Dolphins.
Bastian hit .444 (8-for-18) on the week with three home runs, six RBIs, seven runs scored, five walks, and a stolen base in each game. He homered in three consecutive contests, capped by a three-hit performance with a home run in Jacksonville's win at FGCU on Saturday, April 6.
Earlier in the week, Bastian drew two walks and drove in a run against No. 4 Florida State on Monday, April 1.
The Winter Garden, Fla. native leads the ASUN with 19 stolen bases—four more than the next closest player—and ranks second in the league with 40 runs scored. A dynamic presence at the top of Jacksonville's lineup, Bastian continues to spark the offense while anchoring the defense in center field. His steady impact at the plate and on the basepaths has firmly established him as one of the conference's most impactful players.
Jacksonville returns to action on Tuesday, April 9, traveling to Georgia Southern for a midweek matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. and the game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
