Late Rally Not Enough as Dolphins Stumble 4–3

STATESBORO, GA --Jacksonville Baseball stormed back with a three-run ninth inning, but the late push came up just shy as the Dolphins fell 4–3 to Georgia Southern on Tuesday evening.

Junior right-hander Aaron Zenus got the start for the Dolphins, working four innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits, with two walks and three strikeouts. Freshman Kyle Powers provided a strong boost out of the bullpen, tossing 2.2 shutout innings without allowing a hit and escaping a key jam in the bottom of the fifth.

HOW IT HAPPENED

After being held in check for most of the night, the Dolphins made things interesting late. Trailing 4–0, senior Aidan Masters came through with a bases-clearing double in the ninth to put Jacksonville on the board with three runs.

The rally brought the tying run to the plate, but the comeback ultimately fell just short.
