JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --Jacksonville Baseball wrapped up its regular season on Saturday afternoon with the final game of the regular season against North Florida. The Dolphins celebrated Senior Day, honoring nine graduating players: Carson Stevens, Collin Rothermel, Aidan Masters, Chris Lotito, Layton Perry, Josh Steidl, Blake Barquin, Richard Long, and Blake DeLamielleure.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 3-0, the Dolphins got on the board in the fourth inning when senior Josh Steidl led off with a solo home run, a highlight in his final game at John Sessions Stadium.
However, Jacksonville couldn't build on the momentum, and North Florida added five more runs to secure an 8-1 win.
GAME NOTES
- JUÂ pitchers limited North Florida to just 1-for-9 (.111) with runners in scoring position.
- Dolphin pitchers faced 42 Ospreys hitters in the game, allowing two ground balls and 17 fly balls while striking out seven.
- Steidl led the Dolphins at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a home run and an RBI.
- Jonah Shields and Chandler Howard both had multi-hit games as well
