OXFORD, Ala. – Jacksonville's softball season ended in the second round of the ASUN Softball Championship, 3-0, to Austin Peay.
The Dolphins collected three hits, one each from graduate
Gabby Baylog, senior
Averi Harcus and sophomore
Jazz Jones.
Harcus and Baylog represented two of JU's six seniors who ended their college softball careers Tuesday. The duo was sent off alongside
Ashlee Harwood,
Christa Pritchard,
Haley Fox and
Madison Bratek.
In the circle,
Skylar Waggoner pitched 4.1 innings in the final appearance of her sophomore season. She fanned three while giving up eight hits. Waggoner was replaced by Harrelson, who like Waggoner pitched in both tournament games. The freshman Harrelson struck out two in 1 2/3 innings of work.
Jacksonville extended its streak of berths into the ASUN Championship to three with its No. 8 overall seed in 2025. The program's first round win over North Alabama was its first since 2021 and its first opening round win since 2018.
