JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Despite an elongated weather delay, the Jacksonville women's soccer team defeated Edward Waters 9-0.

Manuela Restrepo and newcomer
Juliette Lucas the Dolphins opened the 2025 season with an emphatic win. Thursday's win was the second largest win in JU program history, and it came behind an eye-popping 53 shots from the team.

Lilian Carhart and
Olivia Peal all scored in the contest.
Restrepo and Delprat tied for the team-lead in shots on goal with four each. Lucas,
Georgina Spraggon,
Millie Urquhart,
Laura Di Mascio, Rey Perez and
Layla Garcia-Moreno each had a trio of shots.
In the assist category, Restrepo had two. Rey Perez, Di Mascio, Ballmann and
Olivia Peal all had one.
Inside the nylon, keepers
Pia Bozic,
Kathryn Shaggy and
Athena Zuluri only faced a single shot during the rainy evening.
The Dolphins return to play on Sunday, August 17 at 1 p.m. at Georgia Southern. That game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
