STATESBORO, Ga. — On Monday, the Jacksonville University men's soccer team fell to Georgia Southern, 2-1, in a non-conference match at Bo Pitts Field. The Dolphins dropped to 2-4-1 following the result.
Georgia Southern scored first with a goal at the 16:09 mark. Jacksonville went into halftime down a score, but responded in the second half when Kailas Cooper scored in the 49th minute, evening the contest at 1-1. However, GSU's Kevin Pierre netted the winning goal in the 84th minute, securing the victory.
The Dolphins showed resilience, particularly in the second half. Despite being outshot 13-9 and giving up more corner kicks, goalkeeper Simen Havig made a strong showing with eight saves.

The Dolphins will host North Florida on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m. at Southern Oak Stadium for the first edition of the River City Rumble. The Ospreys hold a record of 3-3 so far this season and the contest serves as the ASUN opener for both programs.
