JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University men's basketball and head coach Jordan Mincy have officially released the full 2025-26 schedule. The 31-game slate features 13 non-conference tilts and 12 home games during the year.
The Dolphins will begin the season at the University of Miami (FL.) on Nov. 3 and end the season at rival North Florida on Feb. 28.
In between, the 'Phins will play in the Sunshine Slam Tournament in Daytona Beach, travel out to SEC powerhouse Texas A&M and open ASUN play at Lipscomb on New Year's Day.
Jacksonville will also compete in the second year of the ASUN and Southern Conference Alliance, where JU will travel up to the Virginia Military Institute on Nov. 15.
Coming off a successful non-conference season last year -- highlighted by a win at Virginia Tech -- and an eventful ASUN schedule where the Dolphins won seven straight, Mincy and his team are ready to make a run at the Atlantic Sun crown and a coveted trip to the NCAA Tournament.
"Every game is a new opportunity for us and I look forward to the challenging road ahead," Mincy said. "We have a lot of new, exciting talent that we get to showcase against some of the best teams. Each time we play is a new chance to showcase what we are building here. We have a lot of high character student-athletes on this team that are ready to take our schedule on. Everyone on our team is extremely eager to begin the season."
NON-CONFERENCE OUTLOOK
The 2025-26 season begins with a trip down to Coral Gables to face off against the Hurricanes in their first year under head coach Jai Lucas. Jacksonville last clashed with the 'Canes back in 2020.
Jacksonville's first home game of the season comes just three days later when JU plays host to Trinity College of Florida for the first time in program history. The Lions compete in the USCAA Division 2.
A three-game road trip follows for the 'Phins, with trips to High Point, VMI and George Mason. High Point is coming off a NCAA Tournament berth as a #13 seed upon winning the SoCon, while George Mason is fresh off a trip to the NIT after a second-place finish in the Atlantic 10.
For the second year, Jacksonville will compete in a Thanksgiving-week tournament when they begin the Sunshine Slam against Daytona Beach's own Bethune-Cookman on Nov. 24. The following day, the Dolphins will play the winner of Pacific and Stony Brook for either third place or the tournament championship. All games for the Sunshine Slam will be broadcast on BallerTV.
To kick off December, Jacksonville will face Florida A&M for the first of two non-conference games against the Rattlers on Dec. 2. Jacksonville then travels to FAMU on Dec. 17. The last contest between the two schools happened back in 2018, with JU owning a 10-3 overall record in the series.
JU will take a Dec. 6 trip to FIU before coming back home for the team's final non-conference matchup against Trinity College of Jacksonville -- formerly Trinity Baptist -- on Dec. 11.
About 1,000 miles from Jacksonville, the Dolphins will embark on their longest distance traveled all season when they head out to College Station, Texas. Texas A&M is coming off another successful year under head coach Buzz Williams that saw the fourth-seeded Aggies win a game in the NCAA Tournament against Yale.
Closing out December, the Dolphins play two games in Tallahassee: one against FAMU and one against Florida State. The game against FSU closes the non-conference season with tipoff set for Dec. 22. The Seminoles, like Miami, are in the first year under a new regime with Luke Loucks leading the garnet and gold for his first season.
ASUN PLAY
Conference play begins Jan. 1 at defending ASUN Tournament champion Lipscomb. The 'Phins will play host to the Bisons on Jan. 29.
Keeping in Tennessee, Jacksonville then travels to Austin Peay on Jan. 3. A whole month will pass before the two programs meet again as the Governors come to Duval on Feb. 21.
The first ASUN home series for JU starts on Jan. 8 when Swisher Gymnasium welcomes Queens University, a team JU beat on the road in the two schools' lone meeting last year. JU will make the trek back up to Charlotte again on Feb. 5.
West Georgia will come to Jacksonville for the first time ever on Jan. 10, after JU defeated the Wolves in Carrollton in the first overall meeting between the two schools.
A swing out to the far reaches of ASUN territory comes next for the 'Phins, with trips to Central Arkansas (Jan. 15) and North Alabama (Jan. 17). The reward for Jacksonville's travels is a four-game home stand to end the month, its longest home game streak of the season.
Jacksonville will host some of the best the ASUN has to offer when Bellarmine (Jan. 22), Eastern Kentucky (Jan. 24), Lipscomb (Jan. 29) and FGCU (Jan. 31) come to town. This year's matchup with EKU, the only regular season match between the two schools, will be especially noteworthy after JU swept the Colonels in the regular season last year and defeated them in the ASUN Tournament.
Filling out the final month of the regular season, Jacksonville travels to Stetson on Feb. 12 with a home game against the Hatters on Feb. 26. Jacksonville won both meetings with Stetson last season.
The first River City Rumble happens on Feb. 14, when UNF comes to Arlington after a pair of Osprey victories in the series last year.
JU will make the short jaunt down to FGCU on Feb. 19 before home stands against Austin Peay and Stetson prior to the regular season finale across town at North Florida.
POSTSEASON PLAY
This year's ASUN Tournament will be hosted within Jacksonville's very own VyStar Veteran's Memorial Arena. The 2026 iteration of the tournament will feature all 12 member schools and is the first time since 2013 that both the men's and women's basketball tournaments will happen at the same site.
In traditional ASUN Tournament fashion, the first-round games will happen on campus sites. The quarterfinals through the championship game will be at Veterans in downtown Jacksonville.
The tournament is expected to generate revenue north of $10 million for the city of Jacksonville. For more information regarding the new tournament landscape, click HERE.
