Jacksonville Athletics Enters Media, Broadcast Partnership With Action Sports Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville University Athletics and Cox Media Group (CMG) announced a new four-year broadcast rights partnership to bring JU sporting events, coaches shows, and further athletics programming to local television via Action Sports Jax TV.

"We are excited to partner with Cox Media Group and Action Sports Jax to tell the stories of our amazing student-athletes and coaches. This strategic partnership mirrors our university mission of putting students first by expanding viewership access to our community and giving them the opportunity to cheer on the Dolphins," said Alex Ricker-Gilbert, Senior Vice President and Athletic Director.

The two parties signed their agreement starting in October of 2026 through June of 2030 to broadcast select Dolphin athletics events over the air on Action Sports Jax TV, locally available on WJAX-TV 47.2 and on Xfinity channels 216 and 1188 HD. Action Sports Jax TV is also available to stream online.

Jacksonville's new local broadcasting deal will feature 10 live sporting events per year to be aired. This new multi-year partnership will help grow the Jacksonville University brand across the local market and expand access to sporting events on linear television. Dolphin athletics will join the lineup on Action Sports Jax alongside professional sports like the Jacksonville Jaguars and Orlando Magic.
