JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- The Jacksonville Dolphins were picked first in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Preseason Poll by the league's coaches. The Dolphins received a league-best five first-place votes.
Jacksonville finished second at last year's MAAC Championships, falling by the narrowest of margins. The Dolphins tied Fairfield in the championships on 47 points, but the Stags edged out Jacksonville in the Varsity 8+ to win the tiebreaker.
JU will look to avenge last season's results and win the program's 10th MAAC title in program history. The Dolphins have won six conference titles under current head coach
Mike Lane, including a three-peat from 2022 to 2024.
Jacksonville starts its 50th season of women's rowing next month in an early season tilt against the Villanova Wildcats in Gainesville, Florida. The race is scheduled for March 6. The Dolphins will build towards the MAAC Championships on May 17.
