JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville and UNF are now even after two games, with UNF defeating the Dolphins 12-4 Friday night.
After two games, the River City Rumble's first edition is even at 1-1 following
Jacksonville's dramatic Thursday night victory in extra innings. JU is now 17-14 overall and 2-3 in ASUN play.
The Dolphins found themselves in a 6-0 hole after an inning of play but responded in a big way in the second.
Kiersten Stevens got the 'Phins on the board with an RBI-single.
Reese Wells later scored on a wild pitch.
Continuing her strong start to ASUN play,
Sarah Beth Brake knocked a single, finding herself on second and
Kate Linkletter back to the dugout on an errant throw in the third inning. The Dolphins went into the back half of the game down just two runs, 6-4.
The scoring stopped there for JU however, as UNF rattled off six runs to end the game in five innings.
Brake, Stevens, Linkletter,
Alison Carter and
Vic Brunette collected the team's five hits across town. Brunette's lone hit was a double, her third of the year. The Dolphins left just two base runners on all night.
In the circle, Wells got the start. She was followed by
