JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Alex Walsh has been named ASUN Pitcher of the Week after spinning a one-hit gem in Jacksonville's 10-1 win over Queens on Friday, April 24.
Walsh earned his sixth win of the season, tossing six scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out eight.
The honor marks the first Pitcher of the Week award of Walsh's career and continues a strong stretch for the Dolphins, who have now claimed an ASUN weekly honor in three consecutive weeks. It is the second Pitcher of the Week recognition for Jacksonville this season and the fourth ASUN superlative overall.
Walsh, a preseason All-ASUN selection by Perfect Game, currently ranks second in the conference in wins and has been a steady presence as the ace of the Dolphins' rotation.
He joins Brendan Holland as Jacksonville pitchers to earn the honor this season, with Holland taking home the award earlier in April.
