JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – For the first time since 2021, the Jacksonville Dolphins shut out the North Florida Ospreys for a win in the River City Rumble.
Jacksonville defeated UNF 5-0 Wednesday night to open the Rumble, earning a home shutout win for the first time since 2018. The Dolphins have now won three of their four meetings this year with the Ospreys, marking the most wins in a single season for the Dolphins over their crosstown rivals.
Sophomore stud
Jacy Harrelson earned her 20
th win of the season on the mound, moving Jacksonville to a 31-18 overall record and 15-7 in the ASUN.
Harrelson's win total keeps her planted at second overall in single-season wins and marked her 12
th complete game performance of the year. Across seven innings, Harrelson allowed just three hits and struck out one.
Going into the bottom of the fourth, the game was knotted at 0-0 before graduate
Alison Carter stepped up to the plate. With fellow grad
Sarah Beth Brake on the basepath, Carter absolutely blasted a softball past the left-center wall for a two-run shot.
Carter's homer was her fourth of the year and provided her 101
st RBI of her four-year career in Duval County.

Emma Mansfield scored pinch runner
KK Hagan behind an RBI-double. Mansfield's double was her sixth of the year.
Left fielder
Reese Wells reached first via a throwing error by the UNF shortstop, scoring freshman
Vic Brunette to put JU up 4-0. Freshman
Jaida Thomas capped things off with an RBI-single to push the game to its final.
Thomas, Mansfield and
Lindsey Chadwick all collected two hits with Mansfield going a perfect 2-2.
Jacksonville looks to finish out the season strong with two more games against the Ospreys to end the regular season. The 'Phins and the Ospreys square off once more Thursday night at 5 p.m. inside the Pruitt Softball Complex.
In terms of the ASUN standings before the Tournament, Jacksonville is in second place in the Graphite Division behind Stetson. Both schools are tied for an ASUN-lead with 16 total wins in conference.

"(This game) means we are that much closer to securing a first game bye in the tournament," head coach
Erica Ayers. "(We are) focused on ourselves and playing with a lot of confidence down the stretch."
