GREENVILLE, N.C. – In the final regular season women's golf event of the year, the Jacksonville Dolphins finished 16
th at the Ironwood Invitational hosted by East Carolina.
The Ironwood Invitational was the fifth event of 2026, finishing the ASUN regular season for the 'Phins. As a squad, Jacksonville shot +103 with rounds of +37, +36 and a final +30 round Tuesday afternoon. Jacksonville finished just two shots behind Gardner-Webb in 15
th place.
JU started play in round one led by a +7 showing from
Hannah Lowery, who carded one of the team's four opening round birdies. In round two,
Alexis Rieli and
Erin Marcelino led the team with +8 scores. Rieli recorded three birdies in her round, all on the front nine.
During the final round Tuesday, Marcelino tallied the low score for the 'Phins with a +3, earning three birdies. Marcelino was even on the front nine.
Both Marcelino and Rieli finished T64 for the tournament with Marcelino climbing 11 spots during the final day of play, with both Dolphins finishing with +23 overall scores. Lowery recorded a +27-tournament score and a finish of 74
th place.
Kit Schaefer shot +47 for the tournament and finished in 89
th.
Jacksonville concluded the 2026 half of the season with team finishes of ninth, 12
th, 16
th, 13
th and 16
th before the ASUN Championship begins in the middle of April.
The ASUN Women's Golf Championship is slated for April 17-19 in Dothan, Alabama at the Dothan Country Club. Last season, Jacksonville finished 10
th out of 12 teams in Huntsville, Alabama.
