JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sunday afternoon at Harmon Stadium didn't go the Dolphins' way, as Jacksonville fell behind early and couldn't recover, dropping the River City Rumble finale to North Florida, 10-0, in seven innings.
North Florida got on the board in the second with a two-run shot, and the Ospreys kept the pressure on in the fourth, stringing together three hits and capitalizing on some free passes to put up a five-spot and make it 7-0.
Jacksonville was unable to get much going offensively, finishing with just one hit on the afternoon, a fifth-inning single from Sam Grunberg. The Dolphins did draw four walks and put multiple runners aboard in the fifth, but could not push a run across.
Kyle Powers was tagged with the loss after allowing six runs over three innings. Jacksonville went to the bullpen early, with Payton Waters, Gavin Dicks, Grant Brooks, Kyle Hopper and Ayden Phillips all seeing time on the mound.
North Florida added insurance runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to bring the run-rule into effect.
Defensively, Logan Baratta provided one of the day's highlights with a diving stop on a ground ball in the third inning to keep a ball from reaching the outfield.
