JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville softball team had five student-athletes named to the Academic All-ASUN awards list,
the league announced Tuesday.
Graduate student
Alison Carter, senior
Lindsey Chadwick, and sophomores
Jacy Harrelson,
Tatum McCool and
Alayna Gaddy all were honored for sustaining above a 3.50 GPA throughout the year and appearing in over 50% of games played.
Carter is appearing on her third consecutive Academic All-ASUN awards list, as well as having previously appeared on two straight Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete awards lists. In her Master of Business Administration, Carter earned a 3.84 cumulative GPA.
Fellow graduating student-athlete Chadwick earned a 3.84 as well in her Master of Business Administration degree, with a Business Analytics Concentration.
Gaddy earned the highest overall GPA of the group, securing a 3.96 GPA in her Health Sciences major with a minor in Biology.
Also in Health Sciences, Harrelson earned a 3.91 GPA while earning a minor in Exercise Science as well.
McCool, an Exercise Science major, earned a 3.89 GPA. Harrelson and Gaddy were eligible for list consideration by having already completed over 50% of their coursework towards a degree. McCool is in her third year of college as a redshirt sophomore.
This season's five total Academic All-ASUN honorees are the most in a single-season for JU since 2013. It's the third straight year at least one Dolphin has been honored by the league for outstanding achievements in the classroom. In total, Jacksonville was tied for second most honorees across the league landscape.
