MIAMI --- The Jacksonville Dolphins ended their run at the 305 Classic, losing in straight sets (18-25, 17-25, 24-26) to the hosting FIU Panthers.

The Dolphins were led by Abbie Tuyo's team-high 10 kills. She finished in double figures in every game for the tournament. In addition to her hitting, Tuyo set a new career high with five service aces.

Set One
Kathryn Adler had three kills on JU's first nine points as the Dolphins struck first to lead 10-6 early in the first. Jacksonville kept that lead to the technical timeout when a service error sent JU to the break up 15-12.

Following the break, though, FIU pounced with five-straight points to flip the lead. The Panthers scored eight of the final 10 points in the opener to take the first set.

Set Two
The Panthers took an early 8-2 lead, and they led by no fewer than five points the rest of the set. Haley Yount recorded three kills in the second, but it wasn't enough to spark momentum for the 'Phins as FIU took the second by eight points.

Set Three
The Dolphins gave the Panthers all they could handle  in the third. After a slow start in the second, Jacksonville had the advantage in the early points. A kill from Kathryn Adler got JU to double digits first, going up 10-8.

FIU rallied to lead by as many as five points, but the Dolphins responded with a run of their own. Tuyo cut the deficit to two and got Jacksonville over the 20-point mark with another kill soon after.

The Dolphins pushed the match to the very end, tying the set at 24. It wouldn't be enough, though, as the Panthers took two late points to win 26-24.

• Tuyo has double-digit kills in five-straight matches.
• Yount finished the tournament with 11 kills on 13 attempts, good for a nearly flawless .846 hitting percentage.

The Dolphins will play one more match before the start of ASUN play. JU travels to Gainesville, Fla. to face the No. 10 Florida Gators Wednesday night before the start of conference play in the River City Rumble Saturday, Sept. 26.
