Ross Steedley joined Jacksonville's staff as an assistant coach and the recruiting coordinator in September of 2019.
Steedley continues his metoric rise up the coaching ranks, coming to the Dolphins from Charlotte, his alma mater.
He served as an assistant and the recruiting coordinator for four seasons at Gardner-Webb, working as the teams hitting coach and working with the catchers. The Runnin’ Bulldogs won over 30-games twice, and continually excelled at the plate under his tutelage, mashing a program-record 71 home runs in 2017 and hit a robust .294 as a team en route to a program-record 37 wins in 2016.
In his first year at Gardner-Webb, he was the team’s volunteer assistant, following a year as the junior varsity head coach at Marvin Ridge High School in 2014 and several summer ball and instructional positions before that. He was a standout catcher at Charlotte from 2008-12, making the All-Atlantic 10 First Team and A-10 All-Tournament Team in 2011 in helping the 49ers to a 43-win season, an A-10 Championship and a berth in the Tempe, Ariz. Regional.
