A four-year varsity letter recipient (2019-2023), Mac was a consistent presence both on the field and in the classroom. A four-time All-ACC Honor Roll selection, he helped lead Clemson to two NCAA Regional appearances (2019, 2023), and was a member of the 2023 ACC Baseball Championship team. 

Recognized for his work ethic, Mac earned the Nick Markakis Hardest Worker Award in back-to-back seasons (2021–22) and was named a Clemson Baseball Student-Athlete Award recipient in 2022. Over his career, he posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage while maintaining a .360 on-base percentage.

Born McGwire Matthew Starbuck on Dec. 13, 1998 in Kernersville, N.C. Earned Bachelor of Arts degree in Sport Communications and Masters of Science in Athletic Leadership from Clemson University. Father is a bench coach in the San Diego Padres organization and carries 20+ years experience in Division 1 as a college baseball coach.
