Kyle Pugh continues his work with the Jacksonville University men's basketball team, assuming the role of Director of Basketball Operations for the 2020-21 season.
Pugh, who served as a graduate assistant for the program the previous two years, moves into a full-time role assisting Head Coach Tony Jasick's staff with day-to-day operations and logistics.
Â
"Kyle's work-ethic is second-to-none," said Jasick. "Having the opportunity to promote him to our full-time Director of Basketball Operations position is a no-brainer for our program."
Â
Pugh, a 2018 graduate of Illinois, joined the staff that summer, and immediately continued a long-line of successful and hard-working G.A.'s at Jacksonville University. He has spent time capturing practice and game footage, assembling pregame scouting reports, developing content for the team's social media channels, assisting with practice operations and travel logistics, all while learning the college basketball ropes from a staff that features nearly 50 years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.
Â
Prior to his time at JU, he was a student manager at Illinois, working on the staffs of both John Groce and Brad Underwood. While with the Illini, he was responsible for assisting with individual workouts and tracking statistics in practice and games.
Â
"His willingness to serve our staff and players, regardless of the task, is uncommon," said Jasick. "I'm extremely impressed with his commitment to Jacksonville basketball and the way he approaches his role."
