Biography

Dan Bere’ joined the Jacksonville University men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in August of 2014. Bere’ entered the Dolphins program after spending the previous year on staff at Butler.

Bere’, who spent eight seasons at IPFW, assumed the role of Basketball Analyst at Butler during the 2013-14 season. With the Bulldogs, he handled a variety of administrative duties, including video analysis, self-scouting and opponent scouting, scheduling and academics.

Working under both Jasick and Dane Fife, Bere’ worked his way up the coaching ladder at IPFW and was promoted to assistant basketball coach in 2007-08. His duties with the Mastodons included film breakdown/scouting, recruiting, on-floor coaching, and supervision of student managers. He also served as the team’s academic coordinator, team travel coordinator, and summer camp director. He had previously held the position of Director of Basketball Operations in 2006-07, after spending his first year with the Mastodons as a graduate assistant. In 2010-11, he was part of the staff that led IPFW to a Division I school-record 18 victories. The 18 wins were the most at the Fort Wayne school in nearly two decades.

As a student at Indiana, Bere’ spent four years as a manager for the Hoosiers under head coach Mike Davis. He was a member of the 2001-02 Indiana team that won the Big Ten Championship and finished as national runner-up.

Bere’ earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport Marketing and Management from Indiana in 2005, and a master’s degree in Liberal Studies in 2009. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have a daughter, Haley.
