Nik Colpitts enters his second season as Assistant Coach for the Dolphins in 2022.
Colpitts joined Jacksonville University men's lacrosse as a volunteer assistant in August of 2020.
Colpitts is primarily responsible for working with the face-off unit, as well as coordinating the team's man-up unit and assisting with the design, implementation and execution of the offensive systems and gameplan. He helped tutor an All-Southern Conference Rookie Team member who was a two-time SoCon Defensive Player of the Week. The extra-man unit increased production by 16% year-over-year and the face-off unit improved its winning percentage by 19% and finished 17th in all of Division I lacrosse.
He also helps in identifying prospective student-athletes, assisting with scouting reports and practice planning, while developing and implementing video breakdown strategy for the entire program. He created and rolled out the program's first-ever "Virtual Visit" campaign, which helped the institution host prospects digitally.
Prior to Jacksonville, Colpitts was an Assistant Lacrosse Coach and the Director of Operations at Wingate University from Novemeber 2016 to July 2020. Worked as the goalie and face-off coach and helped develop a USILA All-American, two All-Conference Players and two conference tournament MVPs during a three-year run as conference champions. He also created, marketed and ran the program's first Overnight Camp, organized and executed the annual day of giving campaign and was the primary manager of the team's logistics, as well as assisting in recruiting.
He has also served as the Offensive Coordinator/Recruiting Coordinator for the University of St. Thomas, in St. Paul, Minn. and as a Social Media Strategist/League Director for Homegrown Lacrosse in Minneapolis, Minn.
Colpitts graduated from the St. Thomas with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and earned his Masters in Sport Management from Wingate University in 2018.
