Tyler Granelli enters his sixth year as an assistant on Head Coach John Galloway's staff in 2022.

Granelli was promoted to his current role as Offensive Coordinator in the fall of 2020.

"Tyler has deserved an opportunity to put his stamp on the identity of our offense," said Galloway. "Over the years, he has invested his time with our guys to gain their trust and develop their skills and confidence on the field."

In 2022, the Dolphins had a "year of firsts", which included the first season with multiple ranked wins in program history, first national ranking, first 10-win season, and first SoCon regular season championship. On the offensive side, the Dolphins finished in the top-3 nationally in scoring offense, scoring margin, points per game, assists per game, and shot percentage.

He helped JU to a five-win improvement in 2018, his second year on the staff, and an appearance in the SoCon Tournament Championship game. Just last season, despite the shortened campaign due to the coronavirus pandemic, he guided freshman Jacob Greiner to SoCon Offensive Player of the Week after his performance in a win at Marquette and tutored him to a spot on the College Crosse/SB Nation All-Freshman Team.

Granelli joined the Dolphin family from Florida Southern, where he spent the 2016 season as an assistant coach in charge of recruiting and offense. He also served as an assistant coach for the South Team at the 2017 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) DI & DII North/South Game.

Granelli brings a wealth of national championship experience to JU as a player and coach, having won three Division III National Titles as a player (2009, 2011, and 2012) and one as a graduate assistant coach at his alma mater, Salisbury (2016).

During his time as a graduate assistant at SU, the Sea Gulls went 40-6 and had 16 USILA All-American selections.

Granelli had an outstanding career as a player at Salisbury and helped the Gulls to a 61-7 record, including a perfect 23-0 season in 2012, en route to a pair of National Championships in 2011 and 2012. He earned All-American honors his sophomore, junior, and senior years and finished his career with 426 ground balls and a 64.9 face-off win percentage (689-1,061). Granelli was also a three-time All-Capital Athletic Conference selection.

Following his playing career, Granelli spent the 2014 season as an assistant coach at Randolph-Macon College. He also served as director and coach of several lacrosse clubs in Maryland, New York, and Virginia.

A native of North Salem, N.Y., Granelli was a US Lacrosse High School All-American at John Jay High School in 2008.

He earned his bachelor's degree in communication arts, athletic coaching, and new media art from Salisbury in 2013 and continued his education, receiving his masters of education in 2016.
