Before his tenure at North Georgia, Campbell had a one-year stint at Georgia Southwestern, where he served as the main contact for six of the department's 11 sports. Additionally, he contributed to leading the student intern program, which staffed positions in broadcast production, social media, and photography.

Campbell graduated from the University of Alabama in 2021 with a Bachelor's degree in public relations, focusing on sports and entertainment communication.
