Matt Moretti III joined Jacksonville as Associate Athletic Director for Athletics Communications in July of 2018 after spending the previous three years at the University of Richmond as the Assistant Director of Athletic Public Relations.

Moretti guides and sets the strategy for planning, development and implementation of all communications, website, social media and public relations messages from the athletic department both external and internal. He directs the efforts of the athletic communications staff and coordinates similar staffs at the University level in addition to working closely with a senior peer group within the department as the communications partner on a variety of strategic initiatives. Moretti also works with the external engagement and marketing staffs to help with strategies and communications for ticket sales and donor engagement while serving as the primary media relations contact for men's basketball, men's lacrosse, and men's golf.

During his time with the Dolphins, Moretti has overseen an exponential growth on Jacksonville's social media platforms as well as in website traffic to JUDolphins.com following the launch of its redesign in March of 2019. The website was ranked by USA Today High School Sports as the No. 1 website in Division I collegiate athletics and among the best across all divisions at the conclusion of the 2018-19 academic year. Jacksonville's social media following has nearly doubled in total across all sports and the men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, baseball, softball and women's soccer profiles are regularly among the nation's best performing accounts among peers. Jacksonville's social media presence maintains the second-highest weighted engagement rate of 292 qualifying departments nationwide.

Was heavily involved in the launch and rollout of Jacksonville's athletics re-brand and has served as a brand ambassador on campus, in the community and nationwide in an effort to ensure permeation of the new athletics brand identity. The social media strategy surrounding the re-brand resulted in 52.2 percent follower growth department-wide in the first 24 months and generated an engagement rate of 4.93 percent.

Served as the statistics lead for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament First & Second Rounds hosted by Jacksonville University in March of 2019. Oversaw a staff of eight and guided the implementation of the new NCAA Live Stats technology then coordinated distribution of statistical information to local and national media throughout the week.

Partnered with  leading brand consultant and best-selling author Jeremy Darlow to expand programming that will give student-athletes the tools they need to built their personal brands.

The Wellsville, N.Y. native joined the athletic public relations staff at the University of Richmond in July of 2015 and served as the primary contact for women's basketball, men's and women's golf, and secondary contact for football.

During his first year on campus he served as the interim primary football contact for the 2015 season. The Spiders appeared on ESPN's College Gameday, defeated four nationally ranked opponents, produced four All-Americans and advanced to the FCS National Semifinals.

Beyond that, Matt oversaw a complete redesign and restructuring of RichmondSpiders.com in addition to working with men's lacrosse, field hockey, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's cross country, and women's track & field as a primary contact at various points while the public relations office was short-staffed. He was also responsible for guiding the student-worker staff.

His work as a member of the graphic design team helped Richmond earn recognition as a Top 10 graphic design department in all of FCS by SkullSparks in 2018 and a Top 50 nod in 2017. His design work has appeared in varying publications across multiple mediums.

Prior to arriving at Richmond, Moretti worked at Florida Gulf Coast University where he spent the 2013-15 academic years. While there he was the primary contact for the women's soccer and baseball programs and served as the primary video production contact for the athletic department. He oversaw four ASUN Tournaments, two for both baseball and soccer, on FGCU's campus and also served as the host SID for the 2014 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament first round match at the FGCU Soccer Complex. He was also involved in getting FGCU's ESPN3 initiative off the ground.

Moretti, a 2012 graduate of St. Bonaventure University, began his professional career there as the Assistant Director of Sports Information. During the 2012-13 academic year he served as the media and public relations contact for women's basketball, men's soccer, softball and women's lacrosse while handling all video production for department.

Moretti worked as an intern in the Sports Information Office at St. Bonaventure for three years while splitting time as the video coordinator and student-manager for the women's basketball program for all four. As an intern he gained experience writing for GoBonnies.com for all 14 varsity sports. In 2011 and 2012, Moretti was involved in the department's increasing presence in social and new media, primarily YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.

During his senior year he produced, cut, edited and voiced over many post-game and season highlights exclusively for women's basketball. He helped plan, coordinated and executed the 2011 "Brown and White Night." Moretti also designed, produced and edited "A Legacy Defined" – a short-film created for the Athletic Department which told the story of the 2011-12 basketball seasons, during which his women's program advanced to the Sweet 16.

Matt is joined in Jacksonville by his wife, Janelle and their dog Rosie. The pair welcomed their first child, a baby boy, Reilly, in October 2018.
