Erin Saunderson

Director of Women’s Basketball Operations Erin Saunderson joined the Jacksonville hoops staff in the summer of 2023. 

Prior to JU, Saunderson worked alongside Coach Jennings during Jennings’ second year at Montverde Academy. She served as the Assistant Athletic Director, overseeing all operational aspects for the team. Together, Saunderson and Jennings clinched the 2021-22 Geico National Championship Ring while Saunderson also worked alongside 11 other teams on campus. 

Saunderson also coached various sports, including soccer, trampoline tumbling, gymnastics, and Lacrosse in Seattle, Washington. 

Saunderson began her professional career in the athletic department at The Bush School. She started as an intern and then took on roles as a coordinator and administrative support. She later spent a year at Seattle University in Athletics as a Project Manager of External Affairs with a focus on marketing and advertising.  

Afterwards, Saunderson stepped into the big leagues working in event operations with WNBA team, The Seattle Storm. While spending a year with Up2Us Sports Seattle, (a non-profit based out of New York) as a Coach Program Manager. 

Saunderson has also published articles in the local athletic directors’ magazine in Seattle while having other research published in ‘Introduction to Sports Consumer Behavior 4th Edition by Galen Trail’. Her insights were featured in the book ‘Athletic Directors Toolbox second edition.’ 

Saunderson graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelors in Kinesiology and minor in Psychology which paved the way for her to earn a Masters in Sports Business Leadership from Seattle University. Saunderson is a certified nursing assistant, med technician and exercise specialist. 

Originally from Redmond, WA, Saunderson is an active member of WISE (Women in Sports & Entertainment) and finds joy in hiking, exploring mountains, and reading
